Seahawks Legend B-Rad Norman: From North Dakota Roots to Sealand

Seahawks Legend B-Rad Norman: From North Dakota Roots to Sealand

There’s a certain kind of player who doesn’t just play American football, they live in the chaos of it. The collisions, the mud, the grind, the moments where everything hurts but you’re grinning anyway.

Bradley Norman is that kind of player.

And in the world of the Sealand Seahawks, representing the fiercely independent Principality of Sealand, that mindset doesn’t just fit in. It defines what it means to be a legend.

From North Dakota to the World Stage

Bradley’s football journey doesn’t follow a neat, polished path. It’s built the old-school way, through years of graft, adaptation, and a willingness to line up wherever the team needs him.

Starting out in the 1990s at Minot High School in North Dakota as a fullback and inside linebacker, he laid the foundations for a career defined by versatility and physicality.

From there, the road stretched across teams and roles:

  • Defensive End, Defensive Tackle, Offensive Guard, Fullback
  • Practice squads, semi-pro squads, all-star teams
  • Player and coach, leader and enforcer

Teams like Central Wisconsin Panthers, Northern Colorado Nightmare, and Team Colorado Allstars weren’t just stops, they were proving grounds.

And coaching? That became part of the DNA too:

  • Head Coach
  • Defensive Coach
  • Strength & Conditioning leader

This wasn’t about spotlight. It was about staying in the game in any way possible.

The Call That Changed Everything

Not every legend starts with a grand plan.

Sometimes, it starts with a phone call.

A call from fellow Seahawks legend Levy Morrow opened the door to something unexpected: the chance to play overseas… in France… for a team representing Sealand.

“The rest is history.”

Northern Ireland: The Statement Game

After nearly four years away from competitive football, Bradley didn’t ease his way back in.

He attacked it.

Training relentlessly ahead of the 2023 Sealand tour in Armoy, Northern Ireland, he made a decision:
If he was going that far, he was going all in.

The result was nothing short of dominant:

  • Multiple tackles behind the line
  • 2 sacks
  • A safety
  • Defensive Player of the Game

Not bad for a “comeback”.

That performance didn’t just put him back on the field, it stamped his place in Sealand Seahawks history.

Glasgow: Mud, Madness, and Magic

If Northern Ireland was the statement, Glasgow was the moment.

Cold. Rain. Relentless conditions.

At one point, Bradley found himself tackling a player and sliding five yards through the mud.

Most players would be miserable.

Bradley?

He stood up, smirked and realised he was loving every second.

“It was the stuff you dream about as a kid.”

Another Defensive Player of the Game performance followed.

Because when the conditions get worse, players like Bradley get better.

More Than a Game

For most of his life, sport wasn’t something Bradley took overly seriously.

It was:

  • An outlet
  • A way to stay active
  • A way to stay out of trouble

Even his achievements, championship rings included, sat on a shelf, more like souvenirs than symbols.

But Sealand changed that.

It made him reflect.

It made him realise that maybe, just maybe, all those years of showing up, grinding, and competing actually meant something bigger.

Recognition didn’t change him, but it sharpened how he saw himself.

The Anti-Hero Team

The Sealand Seahawks aren’t your typical American football team.

And Bradley gets that better than most.

He describes the team as:

  • A dark horse
  • An anti-hero
  • A global brotherhood

This isn’t about routine seasons or local rivalries.

It’s about:

  • Travelling with purpose
  • Experiencing culture together
  • Building something that exists beyond the field

You don’t just show up, play, and leave.

You explore. You connect. You build something that follows you across countries.

A team that can “take over small towns”… and still feel like family.

A Different Kind of Brotherhood

What keeps players coming back isn’t just football.

It’s the people.

Bradley thought his first trip would be a one-and-done:

  • Play a game in Europe
  • Go home with a story

Instead?

Five tours later, he’s still here.

Not just for the game, but for the friendships.

“I don’t come over for just football anymore. I go on tour to see my friends.”

Each tour adds new faces.
Each reunion picks up like no time has passed.

That’s rare. And it’s powerful.

What Sealand Means

For Bradley, Sealand isn’t just a place, it’s a reflection.

Quirky. Defiant. Different. Undeniably compelling.

A micronation that shouldn’t exist… but does.

And thrives.

“It’s definitely a place for the underdog.”

What started as “just playing football” became something more:

  • Playing for the flag
  • Defending the fort
  • Representing something bigger than yourself

What the Seahawks Mean

Ask Bradley what the Sealand Seahawks mean to him, and the answer is simple:

Opportunities. Friendships. Perspective.

He went to Europe thinking he’d teach the game.

Instead?

“Europe taught me about American Football.”

And maybe that’s the essence of it all.

You arrive thinking you know what this is.

You leave realising it’s something much bigger.

Becoming a Sealand Seahawks Legend

Being named a Sealand Legend isn’t just about stats or awards.

It’s about impact.

  • Showing up
  • Putting in the work
  • Embracing the chaos
  • Building the culture

Bradley Norman did all of that and more.

From North Dakota roots to muddy pitches in Glasgow, from coaching sidelines to anchoring defensive lines across continents, his story is exactly what the Sealand Seahawks are about.

Unpredictable. Relentless. Unforgettable.

🌍 Want to Join the Journey?

If you’re thinking about joining the Sealand Seahawks, Bradley’s advice is simple:

Come for the football.

Stay for everything else.

Because once you’re in…
you’re part of something that doesn’t really exist anywhere else in the world.
