It seems hard to believe it was a year ago today that my Dad passed away. We shall be raising a glass to him tonight. As a young soldier he was bitten by a snake in Iraq; he attempted to cut out the poison with a razor blade and then drank a bottle of whisky.
Everything we are told not to do these days in such circumstances! In later life he always kept a bottle of whisky in the house and his excuse: “You never quite know when you might get bitten by a snake”
